What is Sapient?

Sapient is an annual publication focusing on undergraduate research in Biological Anthropology.

What topics does Sapient cover?

Human genetics and variation, evolutionary history and theory, primate behavior and ecology, and paleoarcheology and morphology.

Who is a part of Sapient?

We are a group of undergraduate students at Columbia University studying a wide range of subjects, including Evolutionary Biology of the Human Species, Archaeology, Genetics, Linguistics, and History.

What can be submitted to Sapient?

We accept research pieces of up to 4000 words as well as illustrations and photographs pertaining to biological anthropology.
